Shutter Fires When Advancing Film Canon A1. Is the shutter advance supposed to work with no film? I put a fresh I'm having a problem with my A1 - when the film advance lever is pressed, the mirror raises as it would when the shutter is pressed, but the shutter curtains don't move I'm hoping I won't have to take it to the shop, but it's looking that way.

I recently acquired a good ol' Canon AE-1(not program) and shot two rolls of film without issue He accepted the return, and I have a second purchase on the way from another seller who also claims it works 100% From what I read so far under a google search "shutter fires when advancing film canon a1" is that it might just be slightly dirty inside and needs light cleaning (with isopropyl alcohol), or it may have to be taken in for servicing
